I like to write and so here I am. I'm not sure many people will follow the blog, and I guess that's really not the point. Or -not really- the point. I can write, I can put down thoughts and ideas, but I learned in my first college writing class that my k-12 education was pretty much non existent.
But I'll write anyway.
I like to get away, travel, I don't do it enough. I'd like to have the freedom, the income, the energy, and perhaps not the responsibilities of a father of three etc. But here I am, I love them, they are mine.

Tonight I head to the Netherlands via a plane change in London. Melissa has never been there, I have once, nine years ago on a cycling trip with Evan, my middle son, he was 12 or so at the time. I liked the country, I talked with as many people as would engage with me, and I found their practical way of living rather agreeable. The bike, it's simply smart sensible, no hassle, cheap transportation. That would be the answer I got when I asked about the bike culture, some in America dismiss or attribute the robust European bike culture to high fuel costs. Not so. Best answer I got from a woman in Rotterdam-"Why would I get in my car to go three miles-then try and find a parking spot?"

Well so I'm headed there again for more leisurely bike life and some modest sightseeing, some living in the moment, I may write down some thoughts here.
